How To Apply

To qualify, a student must have been identified with a learning difference or disability, have an individualized education plan (IEP) created with their local school district, and attend private or homeschool.

Choose A Provider

If your student qualifies, Summit Reads will complete all of the necessary paperwork and submit applications to the State of Ohio.

Getting Services

Jon Peterson Scholarship students typically receive tutoring support 2 times a week, for 60 minutes each session. Progress reports and updated IEP goals will be provided as needed.

Common Questions

Not sure where to begin? If you suspect your child has a learning difference in reading, you should ask for an assessment from your child's local school district. To request a multifactored evaluation (MFE), submit a written and dated request to your school principal or district special education director.
